Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammo for the BFG

  • It's hard to believe it, but Doom came out over ten years ago. I can remember playing it my freshman year of college, and just how fun and cool it was. The single player game was good, but multiplayer was a revelation. Up until then, who knew that it would be that fun to kill your friends. Virtually, that is. [via Anil]
  • The Israeli tourism industry, which has been a little slow lately, has been staying in business lately by focusing their advertising in America on evangelical Christians.
  • Dennis Kucinich's campaign isn't going very well, but he did get a date out of it. Her name is Gina Marie Santore, and she was selected from a field of 80 entrants to have dinner with the congressman from Ohio.
  • Nuts to that Lomo, I'm thinking about getting a Zero Image pinhole camera for myself.

I bought a ZeroImage 2000 a few days before the Lomo people started selling them (with their usual 150% markup).

I've been having a blast with it.

If you get one (which you should) get it from Zero Image directly, and spring for the cable release.

Lomo is selling Zero Image cameras? I didn't know that. I'm looking at the 2000 and the 6x9 right now. I like that you can change the format with the 6x9, which may be enough to get me to shell out the extra bucks. I'll definetly be getting a cable release.

I'm happy with the 2000. The 69 has a longer focal length (to create the 9cm image circle) which means it isn't as wide angle (I like the ultra wide angle) and it's effectively f/238, which means exposure times might get long.

Hm, thanks for the feedback. It's nice to know someone who has actually used the camera I'm thinking about buying. I'll have to check out some of your pinhole photos sometime.
