Lost Negatives

Sometimes when I'm looking through old prints, I come across prints that come from negatives that I've lost over the years. I hate that I've lost the ability to print a new copy from the original, and that all I have left is banged up print. This photo from a tattoo parlor is a pretty typical case. It has tons of dust and marks on it, but I suppose that if I ever want another print, I can fix all of that stuff in Photoshop and print another copy. At least this way I can create another digital copy, and have a backup of the image. Now, if I could just find some of those old, moldy prints from the Shellac/Dis/Uzeda/Hurl tour, I'd be really happy.

Great shot. I can almost feel the pain as I look at it. Good luck resuscitating those old negatives. You might want to drop the $20 and get some archival storage boxes to keep 'em safe.

I'm pretty good about getting all of the negatives into print file preservers, but I really need to come up with a good filing system.
