We Should Be Whispering All The Time

019

For Romantics: You could do worse than downloading Portastatic's I Wanna Know Girls, which is up there with Mac's best Superchunk songs. A nice, pure ode to the wonders of women. "Now, you and your friends say love is blind/But I think itís easy and kind/Or anyhow it could be"

For The Jilted: The Wedding Present, duh!
"Some rare delight in Manchester town
It took six hours before you let me down
To see it all in a drunken kiss
A stranger's hand on My Favourite Dress
That was my favourite dress you know
That was my favourite dress"

For Old-School Punks: SLF's Barbed Wire Love.

For The Lovesick: Pharcyde's Passin' Me By. The classic upside down video!

For The Really, Really Angry Ones: Shellac's Prayer To God, the real your ex-lover (and her new lover) is dead song. Like an old harsh blues song, but with music that matches the rage of the lyrics.

For The Tragic: The Magnetic Fields' 100,000 Fireflies which has got to be one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking songs ever. And honestly, when it comes to music, isn't heartbreak more interesting?

I just sent that Wedding Present song to a friend who's having a rough time these days.

As much as I like The Magnetic Fields, I think I prefer Superchunk's version.

The rest goes without saying.

Yeah, I do prefer the Superchunk cover as well, mainly because I prefer Superchunk to the Magnetic Fields.
