I'm about to go wait in a really, really long line.
Update: It took one hour and 15 minutes for me to make it through the H-M line at Marshall High School. S-Z was the only other section with a line, but it was about a 1/4 the length of my line. They finally split H-M into two lines by the time I got to the front of the line, but it turned out that almost everyone in line had a last name that ended in K, L or M.

Posted by: patrick at November 7, 2008 01:10 PMWell, I tend to think the long lines are the result of the inefficiency of the election process in Fairfax County rather than a product of overwhelming interest. The overall number of voters was only slightly higher than in 2004! However, it does say something about how motivated everyone in line was, in that no on appeared to be leaving, despite the fact they would be waiting forever.
