I finally got back from my rather great trip to Seattle and Helena around 1:30 in the morning today, thanks to an absurd amount of delays for planes that were getting routed through O'Hare. My flight leaving Missoula for Chicago was delayed first, which bumped onto a later flight out of Chicago, for which I arrived only 20 minutes before the loading time. You weren't mistaken if you thought you saw me sprinting from Concourse F to Concourse C in O'Hare yesterday. Unfortunately, when I got to the end of that run, I found that my next flight had also been delayed by a few more hours. Thanks for nothing, O'Hare!
This here thing is going on hiatus until July, see you guys later!
I'd never have expected to find a live Syrup USA video, but there it is!
"Straight to the mom, went straight there." Shellac playing My Black Ass and some of the beginning of End of Radio at ATP, complete with a bit of stage banter at the beginning.
Attempting to muster the motivation to make it out of the house tonight.
Last Undertones song for the meantime: Get Over You.
On a bit of an Undertones kick now! Go watch them play My Perfect Cousin live on TV back in 1980.
It's too hot to think, at least until I get used to summer weather again. In any case, the summer isn't all bad, as the Undertones would remind you. Watch them play Here Comes The Summer live somewhere in Ireland in the 70s, or listen to the studio version.
Effing Champs playing Flawless Victory, live.
Observed this weekend: One of the panhandlers at the intersection of 14th and Thomas Circle really, really seemed to like Drive Like Jehu.
