Tell me something I don't already know! Just stumbled across a clip of Tsunami playing In A Name at Fort Reno in 1992.
Yesterday, while I was working out at the gym, I caught one of those odd musical choices that occasionally surface during sports telecast. During a college basketball game, CBS used LCD Soundsystem's cover of Joy Division's No Love Lost as bumper music while cutting to commercial. Just the part where they're all shouting "I need it! I need it! I need it!" Joy Division and college basketball, together at last.
I've been listening to The Undertones and trying to think warmer thoughts.
Did you know you can legally download full albums by The Swirlies from their site? Get over there and download a copy of the classic Blonder Tongue Audio Baton right now, if you don't already have a copy.
Gotta say that I am pretty impressed with the performance of the new camera in lowlight situations.
Three things:
1: If you are a fan of Gorey (you know, the guy who did the Gashleycrumb Tinies), you need to check out his parody of a Victorian etiquette books for young ladies.
2:
John: I just did a terrible drawing of Danzig as a wizard.
Drew: Terribly awesome?
3:
I've never watched Gossip Girl, but somewhere in the distant past, I think I can hear Teenage Drew screaming in self-righteous indignation when he is informed that a show about rich Manhattanites is namechecking Simple Machines to establish indie cred. Adult Drew just gets nostalgic and wonders how long it will be until a Tsunami song turns up in a VW ad. Man, I need to retrieve my SM records from my parents' house!
