Running through my last pack of Polaroid film. Hurry up, Impossible Project!
So excited about seeing The Jesus Lizard tomorrow night!
Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday! To reward you, I'll point you towards the performance by TV Casualty, a cover band lead by Ted Leo that plays shows for charity. This past Halloween, they performed an entire set as The Misfits, start with this clip, then watch the rest of the concert:
Be sure to watch all of it, especially the 6th video, which ends with a cover of Mother.
One of the first things I saw on television in Japan was an ad for Coffee Boss starring Tommy Lee Jones. It was a little hard to puzzle out in Japanese and without subtitles, especially when I had just checked into my hotel room in Kyoto after almost 24 hours of travel to get from DC to Kyoto and was extremely tired. Afterwards, all I could really remember of it was Jones running around Japan, and then some guy with Jone's face plastered onto it via CGI leaping down a set of stairs onto another guy's back. Later in the trip, a Japanese friend explained that it was just the latest installment of a series of ads featuring TLJ as an alien attempting to comprehend Earth. When I got home, I searched Youtube and the rest of the Internet for that particular ad, but it hadn't made it online yet. It finally occurred to me to check for it again, so here it is:
This is the 19th ad in the campaign, be sure to check out some of the old ones, like TLJ as a host in a club, in Akihabara or as an extra on a samurai flick.
