Yesterday, I Got So Old
While they were in Chicago recently, Superchunk stopped by the offices of The Onion's AV Club and recorded a great cover of The Cure's In Between Days. The AV Club's Undercover series is winding down, so there weren't a ton of choices left, including Superchunk's own Detroit Has A Skyline, which they passed on playing for the series. Not many songs left, I'm kind of curious who will end up doing The Mats' I Will Dare.

Devil May Care
A few protesters on the Strip in Las Vegas in 2004, from the last time I was in Las Vegas.
I hadn't planned on trying to get tickets to the incredible Matador at 21 concert out in Las Vegas, but a friend scored some tickets earlier today, so looks like I'll be heading out the Nevada for the first time in ages to see an incredible lineup of bands! You know you're looking at a pretty stellar group of bands when folks like Superchunk are getting relegated to the lower part of the billing poster.
A few songs by bands that will be playing:

- Sonic Youth playing Teenage Riot on the Jools Holland show last year.
- The New Pornographers playing The Laws Have Changed on Letterman.

A Fat Tire, Please
This is from when we are at some subterranean bar in Chapel Hill. Did you know that you can get New Belgium beers in North Carolina? Totally unfair that you can't get them anywhere else on the east coast. Oh well, I guess I'll be out west soon enough.
