My friend Amanda--who some of you may know from her years as the DCist Music Editor--started a new music blog this week called Pinna Storm. I kicked off a series of posts at her site called Picture Book, where folks will post a photo of a band and write a little bit about that particular musical moment. For the inaugural post, I wrote up a little something about Fugazi, Fort Reno and post-graduation malaise. Keep checking back, since I will most likely be contributing to that series in the future, and chip in if you think you have something worth sharing.

Eric had a pie party this weekend, wherein everyone attending was supposed to bring a pie. We didn't quite get to that level of participation, but 8 pies proved to be more than plenty. Too much pie, in fact, since I still have a bit of my lemon meringue pie to finish off this evening.
Also, it's David Yow's 50th birthday today, which is kind of crazy. Go listen to some Jesus Lizard to celebrate:
